It took the small group four and a half months to read Mere Christianity, because sessions kept getting canceled throughout the summer. Considering we had agreed to read three chapters a week, and there are thirty-three chapters, it should have been finished in eleven weeks. That's pathetic.

So most of the group members didn't respond, but the two who did suggested we switch to Mere Christianity, which is an "easier" book. I've read it before - as have several other members of the group - but it probably wouldn't hurt me to read it again, so I'm OK with that change. In my Tuesday night small group, we've just finished John MacArthur's study guide to the book of Acts. Thank God. I hate to sound petty, but you could really tell that towards the end of that series, people weren't into it. People were busy with work, so they weren't showing up.
